Ladies and Gentlemen, I now have the only gun on board.
Welcome to CON AIR
Cirus Grissom (A.K.A Cirus the virus)
Yet another Nicholas Cage action film, Con air was a box office hit over here and in the US.
Is this the same person?
If you ever doubted Cage's ability to play different roles, you need only to compare his character in this film to that he plays in the beginning of
Face/Off . The plot is as follows: Cameran Poe (Cage) has just completed an eight-year jail sentence for killing an armed attacker that was threatening him and his wife. The only problem is, to get home, he must hitch a lift on a plane full of the worst criminals in the world. When the plane is taken over by the criminals, Poe must try and stop them from killing all the guards on board, and prevent them from stealing the aeroplane for good, while convincing the police on the ground not to blow them out of the sky
And do it all without the cons knowing who's side he's really on…
The chief bad guy is Cirus 'the virus' Grissom, played brilliantly by John Malkovich. Steve Brucemi puts in an appearance as your every-day Hannibal type mass murderer
However, the film is only saved from the terrible scripting by the director, the large star-cast, and lots and lots of huge explosions
The script is witty in places, but quite corny as well. But as I said, the director handles it well
I strongly recommend action enthusiasts to buy this on video
